Chewang Tashi Bhutia, a student of Semester II, Department of Mass Communication, Central University of Sikkim, is now a member of the Film Cooperative Society, Sikkim. He has recently worked in a film Titled ‘Myth, A Fictional Tribal Film’, by Sukhim Productions. The trailer and the film’s poster were released on the auspicious occasion of Tendong Lho Rum Faat, at Lingyee, South Sikkim in the presence of the Honourable Minister of Sikkim. The movie will be released at Manan Kendra in the last week of September.
Chewang had also won the title of 1st Amateur Mr Sukhim, under men’s bodybuilding in the 65kg category affiliated to the Indian Body Builders Federation last year. The film he has worked on is based on a fictional character created by nature with the essence of the Sikkimese tribal community with mysterious plots and suspense.
He had to work very hard for his role. The film was shot in different geographical terrain like hilltops, caves, rivers and dense forests. He even had to learn the Lepcha language in a very short period. His role in the film was very challenging as he had to gain weight for one half and lose weight for the next half. He worked for this film and simultaneously attended classes, exams and projects. The department congratulates him for his efforts.
